Sustainably grown avocados
Drip irrigation
We use only the necessary water and fertilizers to produce the best avocados. Our avocado orchards are equipped with drip fertigation systems, the most efficient in the industry. We measure soil moisture and nutrients to apply only what’s needed to keep our trees healthy and thriving.
Pollination
Pollinators are essential allies in avocado production, so we focus on their conservation in our orchards. We use Integrated Pest Management (IPM), monitoring pests and setting an acceptable economic damage threshold. We prioritize mechanical and biological controls as the first line of defense. GLC Cerritos was a founding partner of Jalisco’s pollinator committee
As part of our culture of continuous improvement, we have created the GLC Lab. This lab is dedicated to plant protection research using beneficial microorganisms for our avocado and berry farms.
Reforestation
At GLC Cerritos, we have planted over 11,630 native forest trees in our avocado orchards since 2017. Through this effort, we have achieved:
Soil conservation.
Regulation of air temperature and humidity.
Creation of habitats for pollinating insects.
Protection of natural pest predators.
Protection of our orchards from severe climate impacts.
Preservation of biodiversity.
